Aparna Rao, Psy.D.
For over 10 years, I have been providing services to individuals facing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, work problems, trauma, addiction, life transitions, grief, and eating disorders. Often, life events such as a loss, illness, or change in our personal or professional situation can affect us in many ways. We may begin to feel, think, or act differently, or even begin to feel "stuck."
As a therapist, I believe in taking an integrative, collaborative approach to working with my patients. I believe that the therapeutic relationship allows us to come together to address any areas of difficulty so that you can live the life you really want to live. I also believe in educating my patients as we work together in order to build resilience and learn coping skills to be used in the future.
I received my Doctorate in Psychology from The George Washington University. I have extensive training in psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I provide personalized care and tailor my treatment approach to meet your specific needs.
